Calling all 5K enthusiasts and those that enjoy friendly competition. Maybe you’re not a 5K runner but you do enjoy a leisurely walk in the park. Join us for the annual Superhero 5K, 1 Mile Walk and Kids Dash for Down syndrome which is part of a nationwide GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge! There’s something for everyone. A competitive and timed 5K run, a 1-mile inspirational walk, and a kids dash too! This year’s event is going to be bigger and better than ever. The theme is THOR, and we are showing everyone that we have the power to change the way the world views Down syndrome. Come dressed in your favorite superhero costume (not required but there are prizes for best costumes). Funds raised through this event allows the local Down syndrome achievement center to continue offering free services and programs for individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and the community. See website to register. All participants registered by May 15th will receive a cool superhero themed shirt to be picked up the week of the event. Packet pick up will take place Thursday and Friday at GiGi’s Playhouse. Visit the website to see exact times. Register late? That’s ok. We just don’t guarantee that you’ll get the one-of-a-kind shirt. Day of registrations are welcome at the event, but we encourage online registrations to avoid the line. Your participation and support make this possible! Sponsorships are available for this event. We’d love to show the world that you and your business are accepting. Contact GiGi’s Playhouse Quad Cities to learn more.
