U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA)
With a deep commitment to economic growth and entrepreneurial success, Lisa Shimkat serves as the Associate Administrator for the SBA’s Office of Field Operations, where she leads the agency’s nationwide network of field offices supporting small businesses. She also currently serves as the Acting Associate Administrator for the Office of Manufacturing and Trade, playing a key role in advancing innovation and industry across the country.
Previously, Lisa served as the State Director of the Iowa Small Business Development Centers, where she oversaw statewide support for business owners and startups. Her background includes managing a multimillion-dollar revolving loan fund to help rural entrepreneurs and manufacturers grow, as well as operational leadership as a plant manager in the agricultural sector.
Lisa’s practical insights, strategic leadership and passion for empowering small businesses make her a standout voice in national economic development — and an inspiring presence on the Annual Meeting stage.
