RESPONSIBILITIES: The Sprints/Jumps Coach is responsible for leading and developing the institution's student-athletes in the sprinting and jumping events, including but not limited to 60m-400m, hurdles, long jump, triple jump, and high jump. This coach supports the Head Track & Field Coach in all aspects of a competitive Division I program and contributes to a positive, high-performance team culture that aligns with the athletic department's academic, competitive, and community standards, helping to plan and conduct summer camps, plus other duties as assigned by the head coach. Successful candidate must be committed to the academic success of student-athletes and be committed to their personal growth and social development. Successful candidate must be fully committed to all NCAA, The Ohio Valley Conference, and Western Illinois University Athletics Department policies and procedures.
RANK & SALARY: $34,200 - $38,004 per year, commensurate with experience.

Job Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree.
• Successful experience coaching sprints and jumps at the collegiate, high school, or elite club level.
• Knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and compliance expectations.
• Demonstrated ability to teach technical event skills and manage training cycles.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master's degree in kinesiology, sport science, coaching, or related field.
• Experience coaching at the NCAA Division I level.
• Proven record of developing conference-level or national-level performers.
• USATF or USTFCCCA coaching certifications.
For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). Unless otherwise stated, the degree must be conferred at the time of appointment.
