RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct and supervise the installation, maintenance, and operation of equipment and engineering software for all Engineering and Technology laboratories in the Quad Cities, in support of the mission of the WIU School of Engineering and Technology.
• Oversee the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of machinery, tooling, supplies, and other equipment in the School of Engineering and Technology's Engineering Materials, Fluids, Electronics, and Maker Space laboratories.
• Assist with School of Engineering and Technology laboratory activities and classes, including providing support to Faculty and contributing input into the project completion by students.
• Maintain supplies and safety equipment for all laboratories, estimate and revise laboratory budgets in coordination with the Director of the School of Engineering, and propose improvements or changes to the School of Engineering and Technology Quad City laboratories.
• Designated as an OSHA trainer and supervisor for all School of Engineering and Technology Quad Cities laboratories.
• Responsible for supervising student workers employed in the multiple School of Engineering and Technology Quad Cities lab spaces including their hiring and training.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of the School of Engineering and Technology
This is a full-time, 12-month position with the potential for adjunct teaching opportunities based on candidates' credentials and experience.

Job Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, Engineering, Technology Education, or equivalent level of work experience.
• Must have experience in machining, use of, or ability to learn how to use CAD/CAM software, Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing, robotics, and robotic welding.
• Knowledge of electronics, power systems, and fluid dynamics fundamentals.
• Experience in Safety training and technology instruction relevant to operating a machining laboratory.
• Ability to function as the lab safety administrator/supervisor.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master's degree from an Engineering or Engineering Technology related discipline who demonstrate a willingness and the ability to teach CAD, lab safety, or other technology subjects.
For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). Unless otherwise stated, the degree must be "in hand" at the time of application.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL: The established School of Engineering and Technology represents an array of disciplines that utilize all manner of technology to effect innovation and efficiencies in the creation of industry relevant skills in the context of STEM and related educational programs. Principles include: Innovation, Leadership and Entrepreneurship along with the foundation of transforming concepts into tangible results.
The School offers four Bachelor of Science degree programs in Engineering at the Quad Cities campus, only public Bachelor of Science Engineering degree programs in the Quad Cities region, which provide students many unique opportunities to work with industry through paid internship programs and senior design projects. Additionally, students can participate in many entrepreneurial high-technology development projects through the Quad Cities Manufacturing Laboratory. All Engineering programs emphasize innovation, hands-on laboratories, small, intimate classroom settings, mentoring by faculty, and thinking-outside-the-box solutions.
The School also offers a Bachelor of science in Construction Management (Macomb campus) and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (Macomb and Quad Cities campuses) in addition to minors in Construction and Facilities Technology, Industrial Technology, and Manufacturing Technology.
The school serves approximately 250 undergraduate majors and 70 graduate majors. The General Engineering and Mechanical Engineering programs are accredited by ABET and Civil and Electrical Engineering programs are in the process to receive accreditation.
